Rob Thorne (Ngāti Tumutumu) has a new collaborative album out!

Taonga pūoro practitioner Rob Thorne (Ngāti Tumutumu) has a fresh full-length collaborative release out. It features thirteen improvisational works by Thorne, Swedish experimental folk vocalist Anna Fält and US musician and philosopher David Rothenberg.

The album called ‘Faultlines’ was recorded in 2019, while the trio was attending the WOMEX-19 music expo in Finland. Under the Radar says of the album, “Evident masters of their forms, the international trio of Fält, Rothenberg and Thorne use traditional instrumentation and voice to take us through exploratory new realms on the crystalline, contemplative, and ever-inventive long-player.”
